Using Serve

Applications and next steps

Serve is Dwelling Place’s volunteer application and onboarding portal. Provide accurate information about yourself and upload only photos and audition recordings you have permission to share. Every application requires your photo. An application starts a conversation with the church; submitting it does not guarantee placement or authorize serving before the required reviews and onboarding steps are complete.

Your account and uploads

Use your own account. Two-step verification is available in your account settings and is optional for now. Do not share private applicant information or another person’s uploads outside the people authorized to review them. Do not upload harmful files or sensitive identification, financial or medical documents. Photos may be up to 10 MB. Audition uploads may be up to 1 GB and ten minutes, subject to successful safety checks and processing; YouTube links are an alternative where the department allows them.

Communication and outside services

Check Serve and your email for application updates. Email acceptance by a provider does not guarantee inbox delivery. You can manage optional email preferences in your account. Background-check providers, training sites and YouTube operate separately. Scheduling continues in Planning Center; a Serve status is not a scheduled assignment.
